Sewerin Underground Asset Location training course.

This training course is intended for contractors who install or maintain underground services and need the skills and knowledge to accurately locate, and therefore avoid damage to buried underground assets.

Damaging underground assets causing service disruption may result in significant costs to those who cause the damage.

Course Content:

Day one of the course provides a detailed introduction to electronic locating principles with focus on:

• The transmitter and receiver operation
• Applied signal frequencies, signal injection and grounding
• The effects of different soil conditions
• Blind searches and tracing techniques
  

There is also a detailed workbook that identifies location problems and solutions to correctly identify the target pipe, line or cable.

The second day of the Underground Asset Location course commences with a review and written examination that covers the theory component learnt on day one.

Following the assessment the course addresses the industry obligations in regard to current OH&S Legislation and adherence to acceptable NULCA Industry Guidelines for Asset Location Practices and Procedures.

This is followed by a practical field exercise demonstrating use of latest SEWERIN water leak locating equipment
